Not quite! Though I’d love to see that lovable little guy from the Frost Legion once again. The world today however is not quite ready for some kind of crazy Terraria/Minecraft crossover.
Instead it seems, that Minecraft could be offering players and “event mob” like that of the aforementioned Frost Legion with the introduction of Pillagers. Pillagers, are an evil mob whose sole purpose is to raid villages in Minecraft and terrorize the peaceful Villagers within. I absolutely love the idea and have wanted a system like this to be introduced to Minecraft ever since I experienced such event in Terraria. This poses a relevant question though…How will this play out in game?? Will there be an in game notification of an imminent attack? Will we even be able to find the village that is under attack? I for one have never based myself out of a village so if it’s just a random event with no way of knowing when it happens, where it happens, or even how to initiate an attack, then I really don’t see the point.
The most perfect way to implement this would, in my opinion, allow us to set existing structures that we ourselves have built as potential villages. Once players do that and villagers start to spawn, then that area is fair game to an attack by pillagers.
I guess we will have to wait and see what the future holds. For now you can play with this feature, and many others, while they are being Beta tested on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. You can check them all out here, bunch of new block types plus bamboo and Pandas!!!
