Sonic The Hedgehog Movie Delayed till 2020

Reading Time: < 1 minute

This should come to as no surprise and in fact should bring a sigh of relief. The director, Jeff Fowler, of the Sonic The Hedgehog movie has announced on Twitter that the movie will be delayed till February 24th 2020 as it’s taking them a “little more time to make Sonic just right.”

This comes three weeks after Jeff Fowler announced they were going back to the drawing boards after viewers of the trailer took to the interwebs to complain about what Sonic looked like. Many Sonic fans were upset that Sonic looked nothing like his video game namesake except for his coloring. Complaints varied from eye size, leg size, and whether or not Sonic had fur on his body. Many even said it looked like someone who was wearing a Halloween costume. I don’t disagree.

We are glad to see that they are taking this movie seriously as Sonic has a dear place in many gamers hearts and most of us would not like to see movie like the original Super Mario Bros. (1993) movie where none of the characters looked anything like the game except Mario and Luigi. At least Sonic doesn’t look as bad as the Goombas from that movie!

Sonic The Hedgehog is being voiced by Ben Schwartz and stars Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik and is scheduled to be released February 24th, 2020.
