Back in May, Sonic the Hedgehog live action movie director, Jeff Fowler, announced they were going back to the drawing boards to redesign Sonic. Why? Because the design of Sonic 1.0 sucked! Many fans felt that Sonic had the appearance of a child wearing a bad Halloween costume that looked downright creepy. The internet’s opinion on any one matter can be pretty polarizing. However this time, they were right on point and actually made a difference. Well done Internet! Now don’t let this get to you head…
Fans can rejoice with the release of the latest trailer which includes Sonic 2.0. Sonic’s eyes are closer together, face is rounder, body is shorter, and doesn’t look extra toothy like his 1.0 self. Sonic the Hedgehog looks more like his videogame self, which many of else will be able to identify with. Not like some other video game movies… Super Mario Brothers I am looking at you. On a side note, allegedly, a new Super Mario Brothers movie is in the works for a 2022 release.
Sonic the Hedgehog is due out February 14th, 2020 staring Jim Carry as Dr. Robotnik and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic. Forgo the chocolates, flowers, and cards and take your loved one to the Valentines Day release of Sonic the Hedgehog. Eh, go by yourself… they’ll understand.
