Fire Emblem Character Added to Super Smash Bros

Sorry folks, it’s not Dante this time. Big news for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate announced today. Byleth, from the Fire Emblem series, becomes the 80th fighter to join the battle. If you’ve purchased Character Pack 5 or the Fighters Pass, you will receive Byleth, Garreg Mach Monastery stage, and 11 new music tracks from the Fire Emblem series on January 28th.

Additionally, new details about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2 were announced, which will include six more fighters. No further details were provided about the new fighters as they are currently under development. Fighters Pass Vol. 2 will also include an exclusive costume for Mii Swordfighter, the Ancient Soldier Gear from the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Fighters Pass Vol. 2 will be available for $29.99 online and in retail. Each character pack is also available for $5.99 individually.

New Mii Fighter costumes were revealed alongside the Byleth and Fighters Pass Vol. 2 announcement. The new costumes are inspired by characters from Cuphead, Rabbids, Altair and various Mega Man games. If you’re a fan of Cuphead, a new music track, Floral Fury, originally featured in the Cagney Carnation boss battle, will be included with the new costume.

Finally, Nintendo revealed two new amiibo characters this morning. Dark Samus, and Simon Belmont’s whip-wielding echo fighter, Richter, will be available for purchase beginning January 17th.
