Announced today, Rocket League is going free-to-play later this summer. Via their blog, the Psyonix Team revealed that the title will be leaving Steam, but will joining the Epic Games Store on PC.

But wait, there’s more!

Even though the Steam version will no longer be available, gamers will still be able to play. The Epic Games PC version will be identical to the versions on other platforms and will feature cross-platform play, including the Steam version.

Prior to its summer release, Rocket League will undergo some changes to the game main menus to unify the experience across platforms. Other changes to be made will introduce cross-platform progression and improvements to Tournaments and Challenges.

Don’t worry about anything you’ve purchased or unlocked, as everything will be there, cross-platform, including your Rocket Pass progress, as well as your Competitive Rank. You also don’t have to download anything new and, barring any future updates, all will be supported.

Veteran players, those that have played prior to the free-to-play release will be rewarded with Legacy status, which includes:

  • All Rocket League-branded DLC released before free to play
  • “Est. 20XX” title that displays the first year you played Rocket League
  • 200+ Common items upgraded to “Legacy” quality
  • Golden Cosmos Boost
  • Dieci-Oro Wheels
  • Huntress Player Banner
