HyperX, a brand of Kingston Technology Corp, announced new additions to its expanding gaming hardware line today as part of its presence at the CES 2021 Digital event. Additionally, HyperX is promoting some of its more recent additions to its line of popular gaming accessories, which range from a line of consumer grade and esports grade headphones, to mechanical gaming keyboards and mice. New offerings from HyperX include their new HyperX Alloy Origins 60 keyboard, the ChargePlay Duo Xbox charging station.
The first of HyperX’s reveals – the Alloy Origins 60 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is HyperX’s first 60% keyboard (a 60% keyboard is a compact and space saving tenkeyless keyboard) and features HyperX’s own proprietary HyperX red linear mechanical switches and PBT double-shot keycaps. The Alloy Origins keyboard is the newest variant in their line of Alloy mechanical keyboards and will offer gamers a compact option especially for gamers looking to take a mechanical keyboard to pair with a gaming laptop, without the heft of some full size mechanical keyboards out on the market.
HyperX also revealed its new ChargePlay Duo Controller Charging Station for Xbox. Specifically designed for Xbox, it is compatible with both Xbox Series X|S designed and sized controllers as well as working with Xbox One designed controllers. Microsoft slightly reduced the size of the Xbox controller when it developed the latest version of the Xbox controller for the Series X|S, but as battery location and size was left unaffected, this new charging dock is designed to handle controllers from either generations design.
The controller features two sets of two battery cover plates, one set each for a pair of Xbox One designed controllers and for two Xbox Series X|S designed controllers to accommodate the slight variation in the positioning of the charging contacts on the batteries due to the slight size variation in the body of the controllers, and comes in black. The charging kit comes with a pair of 1400 mAh battery packs with dead-to-full charge time of 2.5 hours, though actual playtime is not specified. As an added bonus, the charging base is designed to also be compatible with Xbox Elite and Elite 2 Wireless controllers with the paddles mounted.
In addition to its new offerings, HyperX announced that several of its other recent product additions, including its Cloud II Wireless headphones (compatible with Nintendo Switch and PlayStation), its Cloud Revolver +7.1 gaming headphones (a new premium line wired cross-platform headphone) and the Pulsefire Haste gaming mouse will now be available in all global markets.
