After the booing of Diablo Immortal over the weekend it was hoped and speculated that Blizzard had another trick up their sleeve; that trick being a Diablo 4 announcement. Kotaku, quoting several unknown sources today stated that Blizzard had prepared an announcement as well as a video to debut but had since pulled both within the last week or so.
Later in the day Kotaku posted a correction debunking the news including a quote from Blizzard co-founder, Allen Adham.
“First off we want to mention that we definitely hear our community. We generally don’t comment on rumors or speculation, but we can say that we didn’t pull any announcements from BlizzCon this year or have plans for other announcements. We do continue to have different teams working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects, and we look forward to announcing when the time is right.”
Kotaku has since confirmed that a video had been produced which also means Diablo 4 is in the works. No other announcements have been made at this time. Guess we will have to play Diablo on our phones for now…
