LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was announced at E3 2019 and will be the first time where players can jump in at any point of the story across the entire Star Wars timeline. The Skywalker Saga will include hundreds of playable characters and employ all the same humor that has been so prevalent through all LEGO games. Not to mention the beautiful graphics and lighting that will grace these systems at launch.
Very little details have been released but we do know that the latest LEGO Star Wars game will be released sometime in 2020, developed by TT Games (also behind the other LEGO games), published by Warner Bros. Interactive and will be available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC. Players can expect the same gameplay mechanics that we have all come to love throughout the entire LEGO franchise. This basically sums up every other LEGO but that’s what makes these games so fun right?
There is only one problem…local co-op play. Most if not all of the LEGO series games have local co-op play which is an absolute blast. Don’t let the kid-like gameplay fool you, LEGO games are addictive, fun to play, and will give you hours of laughter alone now throw in co-op play and it can be downright ridiculous in a good way. It’s surprising that after all these years, especially for a large title like LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga the LEGO series won’t enter the 21st century in online play.
On the other hand the LEGO games need the local co-op modes as these are great games to play with kids as they are not too difficult and they can drop out at anytime to allow someone with more experience to finish the level or challenge.
Nevertheless I am a huge fan and will absolutely be keeping my eyes open for a release date and hope that they surprise us and include online co-op play. Check out the E3 2019 teaser trailer below. May the Force be with you!
