The official Far Cry 6 trailer landed Sunday, capping off the most anticipated news in gaming of the week.
As we reported on just days ago, rumors started flying when a “leak” of a listing of the hotly anticipated next edition in Ubisoft’s Far Cry series occurred in the PlayStation Store. The listing was up only briefly, but in the brief time the listing was up, the damage was done. The news spread quickly, with Ubisoft confirming shortly after that Far Cry 6 was for real.
Ubisoft responded to the initial leak with a tweet, proclaiming “Anton would not be pleased. See you on Sunday at #UbiForward,” referencing their planned event.
Well, as promised, Ubisoft released its first official trailer for the upcoming title. Here is the official trailer, which has been hotly anticipated for days now. Suffice to say, it does not disappoint.
Official Far Cry 6 Trailer from Ubisoft
The trailer was released this afternoon, along with the title sequence scene, with the role of antagonist, dictator Anton Castillo, played by Giancarlo Esposito, perhaps best known for playing the character Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
In addition to the trailer and title sequence, an interview with Esposito was released as part of the hype event for the new game.
All we can say at this point is that there is a great deal of excitement about the new title, and we wouldn’t be surprised in the least to see this title being one of the most anticipated games of 2021.
All indications from the trailer and interview is that Far Cry 6 may prove to bring a cinematic experience into the gaming experience in a way that is rarely achieved. Ubisoft also release a slew of Far Cry 6 photos.
