We learned yesterday first from Endgadget that Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has an official release date. That date is November 13th. The latest title in the Call of Duty saga is centered around the conspiracy of Perseus, a rumored Soviet intelligence operative who operated during the Cold War to infiltrate various US intelligence and military assets. Though likely fake, the game uses this real-life conspiratorial narrative as the main driver of the story.
Today, we got to watch via Gamescon the release of the official cinematic trailer, which seems to feature cut-scenes from Cold War, and features none other than President Ronald Reagan handing down special orders to the ops team, giving them free license to do whatever is necessary to stop Perseus, which US intelligence believes is planning a major attack on the west.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be released on November 13th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and is also slated to be released with the premier of the nextgen consoles that are due out around this same time. It did make us wonder whether Activision has any inside indication of the release date of either the PS5 or the Xbox Series X, given the very close proximity of the release to the rumored launches of both consoles, which appears to be more and more in November, right before the launch of the 2020 Holiday Shopping Season.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be available in three editions, for which pre-orders are being taken now: A “Standard Edition which will set gamers back $60, which will allow owners to play the Xbox One or PS4version cross-generationally on their new next-gen console, a “Cross-Gen Bundle” for $70, which includes both the Xbox One or PS4 version and along with access to the full Xbox Series X or PS5 version, or an “Ultimate Edition” for $90, which includes the cross-gen versions as well some other DLC/in game items. For the PC, only “Standard” and “Ultimate Edition” versions will be available, at the same pricing levels. Full details are as follows:
