Minecraft Dungeons Creeping Winter & Free More!

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Minecraft Dungeons is about to get a decent-sized update with much-needed features including the new Creeping Winter DLC. September 8th will bring three updates to Minecraft Dungeons across all platforms. If you haven’t had a chance to check out this must-have title, take a look at our Minecraft Dungeons Review.

Minecraft Dungeons DLC: Creeping Winter

First, a new DLC will be making its way to Minecraft Dungeons. Creeping Winter DLC will bring the wintry environment to Dungeons. Along with its wintry mix, the Creeping Winter DLC will bring new armor, new weapons, and artifacts to enhance your gameplay. Like the previous DLC, Jungle Awakens, a slew of new mobs will challenge you throughout your adventure.

What’s included:

  • A creeping winter is slowly taking over everything it touches, and the source of its chilling power is a powerful creature known as the Wretched Wraith
  • Take on three new missions and face new enemies such as the Illusioner and Iceologer
  • As you hunt down the source of corruption, you’ll discover new armor, weapons, and artifacts below the snow and sleet
  • Two new player skins and the Arctic Fox pet

Creeping Winter is included with the Hero Edition and Hero Pass upgrade to Minecraft Dungeons or can be purchased separately for $5.99.

Minecraft Dungeons Free Update

September 8th also brings a free update to all Minecraft Dungeon players. As you play through, saved merchants will set up shop in your camp that will enable you to upgrade and buy new gear. The Blacksmith merchant will upgrade items and the Gift Wrapper will enable item trade amongst online players, a feature highly-requested by many.

If you’ve seen all there is to see and do in Minecraft Dungeons, you’ll be pleased with the inclusion of Daily Trials which will include, as the name implies, daily challenges that will “make wild changes to the game mechanics which provide difficult, experimental, or fun challenges…”

Minecraft Dungeons Getting Physical

Finally, if you’ve been holding out for the physical edition of Minecraft Dungeons for some reason, here is your chance. The physical edition of Dungeons will be released on September 8th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch. This will be the “Hero Edition,” which will include both DLCs: Jungle Awakens and Creeping Winter, as well as unique cosmetics, including the Hero Cape, two player skins, etc.

Buyers beware, the physical copy will still require an internet connection to download Hero Pass content as well as the DLCs. Don’t forget, the Standard Edition of Minecraft Dungeons is included with Xbox Game Pass or can be purchased digitally for $19.99.
