Grounded December Update Out Wednesday

Reading Time: 4 minutes

Obsidian Games released its December update of enhancements and updates for their popular backyard survival game, Grounded. Still officially at the status of “pre-release,” Grounded has now been out since the summer, and as of November 10th, had racked up a community of 5 million players worldwide as it has regularly continued to add content to the game, with new bugs, features, locations and countless harvestable and craftable goods.

The December update, technically “build 0.5.0.2752” features a litany of updates and enhancements, as well as tweaks to various existing elements including various adjustments to creature behavior, speed, and strength. Shyla Schofield, Obsidian Games Social Media Manager, hosted the Grounded Developers VLOG 9 and showed off some of the major highlights. These include updates in the koi pond and pond lab, adding more hidden goodies to uncover. Other updates include enhanced underwater gear, such as upgradable flippers that enhance swim speed, the addition of several alternative languages for menus and UI.

Included in the Grounded December update are also several creature updates. Koi fish are now able to eat bugs, creatures, and people, and randomization in creature attack habits was added by randomizing the timing of attacks, making things a bit more unpredictable when fending off spider attacks or hunting bugs for food and materials. Several new materials have been added to the game along with new and enhanced crafting recipes.

Below is the complete developer Vlog 9 detailing some of the Grounded December update.

A full list of enhancements, from the Grounded news page for the December update, are listed below. If you haven’t checked out Grounded yet, check out our early release preview for our impressions.
